Rich for One Day - Suzanne Jacob

Aline is rich because she is happy and values life by the finer things such as taking a cab to the movies or just being able to wake up in warmth, rather than believing happiness comes from materials and circumstance. Shes defines rich as being measurable to high spirits and satisfaction. For example in the story " She opened the fat books and fingered them, caressed and congratulated them. Books where thousands of little heaters, Aline's hands were warm and she felt good." This also shows that she takes nothing for granted no matter how miniscule.

I regret to say that I am not like Aline I take everything for granted even if I don't mean to. I live a life of privilege. Were as Aline is delighted by the prospect of eight dollars, in which case I would find it trivial. The only common ground I can find between myself and Aline is music, in the story it says, "...Lucien hung up and Aline put on the Deep Purple record out of its jacket." This tells us she likes classic rock just as myself, in which case music may be the only thing I dont take for granted. To say I am like Aline or can relate to her on higher levels would be a deception, to say I wish I could be like her would be an understatement.

  1. Hmmm... you've got the same problem here. Again, a quick overdo on the spelling and grammar would improve. And again, you should also try to develop a little more of your idea, explaining your main concept and backing it up. In a way, your second paragraph goes off-track entirely.

    Please get it in again.
